INTERTIDAL. Bareneshort screen-dance film by Collettivo Confluenze (co-production with VER-V)
The lagoon of Venice is a very dynamic ecosystem that has to deal with a continuous challenge to survive. We intend the concept of a city as not only the island of Venice but as the whole lagoon.
The Venetian Lagoon is the most enduring in the world, due in particular to the historical management of humans. Nevertheless, these ecosystems are still quite fragile because of the constant shifting between earth and water: today, in particular, they are facing a very delicate moment over a climate change epoch.
Intertidal. Barene intends to bring an artistic focus on this precious environment, measuring the landscape of the intertidal zones through a performative action. The dancing body explores the liminal zones, shifting the focus on its delicate realities that might still be conserved. The music becomes a multi-layered language that explores and evokes this reality and perceived condition.
